HOMEOWNER STORY

A home for different generations

Challenging layouts and shared spaces redesigned around different generations, with a coherent scheme across the home.

Project case studyThe brief, decisions and delivery

The brief

Improve bedrooms, the kitchen and dining area and the living room for a multigenerational household. Each space needed to reflect its users while connecting with the wider home.

Solving the layout

A small box bedroom had limited floor space and a stair-box projection. Roxanne incorporated the projection into a raised platform solution, allowing a single bed to be replaced with a small double.

Furniture scale and placement created a more grown-up room within the existing footprint. Different physical and practical needs also informed layouts and movement through the wider home.

Bringing the scheme together

Kitchen planning, colours, materials, window treatments and furnishings were developed together. Individual bedrooms reflected their occupants, while the shared spaces followed a consistent interior direction.

Sourcing and styling carried those decisions through to the finishing details.

The result

The homeowner describes rooms that feel more spacious, balanced and personal, with practical solutions they would not have considered themselves.

HOMEOWNER STORY

From flood recovery to a better-functioning home

Flood reinstatement became a complete rethink of the kitchen, layout and interiors, coordinated through to completion.

Project case studyThe brief, decisions and delivery

The brief

Restore a ground floor affected by significant flood damage and address limitations in the existing kitchen, dining and living spaces.

Design and delivery

Roxanne reviewed the ground floor as a connected space, rethinking the layout and designing the replacement kitchen.

She coordinated trades and repairs, managed the interior decisions and sourced furniture, fittings and accessories, carrying the scheme through to its final furnishing and styling.

The result

The homeowners describe a home that was more practical, cohesive and welcoming than before the flood. The project brought repair coordination and interior design together, with continuity from reinstatement to the final details.

The approved testimonial covers the ground-floor transformation and wider work in the home. The bathroom conversion is presented as a separate case study.

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT STUDY

Old and new, brought together as one home

A major extension and internal reconfiguration, with spatial planning and interiors connecting the original house and new accommodation.

  • Spatial vision and planning
  • Interior design
  • Project coordination
  • Specification and sourcing
Project case studyThe brief, decisions and delivery

The brief

An extension with a footprint larger than the original house called for a whole-home vision. The aim was to improve flow and function and make the original and new accommodation feel connected.

Spatial thinking

Roxanne developed the initial vision around circulation, proportions, sightlines and the relationship between the main living spaces.

The kitchen, lounge and dining area were arranged as complementary zones within a connected space, with the original house and extension considered together.

Design and delivery

The interior scheme extended across the main living spaces, utility and cloakroom, hall, stairs and landing, bedrooms, wardrobe and bathroom. Furniture, finishes and detailing gave each room its own purpose while maintaining continuity.

Roxanne brought together the spatial brief, interior design, specification, sourcing and project coordination.

The result

The completed principal interiors form a substantially enlarged home with a coherent layout and consistent design direction.

Further phases include three en-suites, landscaping and a garden room; these remain separate from the completed interiors described here.

“The result is a considerably enlarged family home that feels coherent in both its spatial planning and its design.”

Project case studyThe brief, decisions and delivery

Create a bathroom better suited to the homeowners’ changing needs, with a shower replacing the bath and a coordinated scheme across the room.

“Roxanne brought together the interior design, project management, sourcing, installation and finishing details.”

RELATIONSHIPS & FEEDBACK

Good projects are built
on good relationships.

We value the relationships we build with clients, collaborators, trade partners and suppliers. Clear communication, care and shared standards guide how we work together, from the first conversation to the final details.

Feedback helps us understand what worked well, what mattered most and where we can improve. We listen, reflect and use that learning to strengthen the way we design and deliver.
